People spend more time in their homes than any other location, so policies that protect residents from exposure to commercial tobacco smoke can greatly improve health. The Center works with local governments, landlords, and property managers to find equitable solutions for residents living in multi-unit housing buildings. Multi-unit housing residences vary from apartment buildings, condominiums and cooperatives, to subsidized public housing and each come with a unique set of legal arrangements, the Center develops tailored policies that protect the health of all residents.
