FDA Action on Menthol and Flavored Cigars Factsheet

Description:
On Thursday April 29, 2021, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced a groundbreaking decision to ban menthol as flavoring in cigarettes and all flavors in cigars. This decision was in response to a citizen petition filed in 2013 by the Public Health Law Center, African American Tobacco Control Leadership Council (AATCLC), The Center for Black Health and Equity (formerly NAATPN), and other public health advocacy groups. Although the FDA’s decision to ban menthol is a historic win for public health and health equity, the work is not over. This webinar will provide an overview of the FDA’s response and explain what to expect next.
