The swiftly evolving landscape of legal medical and recreational marijuana has left many employers, employees, and potential hires uncertain about their legal rights and responsibilities regarding on- and off-site use of this drug. As a result, over the last several years employers in many states have revisited and relaxed their workplace drug use and testing policies. This 30-minute webinar examines real and potential challenges resulting from state and federal employee use of marijuana; explores questions such as "What constitutes reasonable suspicion of marijuana use or intoxication?"; presents examples of workplace marijuana policies adopted across the U.S.; compares marijuana with tobacco and other substance use workplace policies; and describes best public health practices for employers and communities to consider.
