BUILDING DECARBONIZATION

The Climate Justice Team is working to help communities interested in pursuing building performance standard policy (BPS). A BPS policy is a set of standards designed to reduce carbon emissions in buildings by improving energy, gas and water use, and peak demand. We, along with our partners, aim to create strategic interventions that will support jurisdictions in the National BPS Coalition to understand legal pathways for building decarbonization policy as well as to avoid BPS-related preemption efforts.
